IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ABOUT FOUR MECHANICS IN THIS SHOP. WELL, ONE MECHANIC HAS 10 CARS TO FIX, BUT HE CAN’T DO IT NOW BECAUSE HE HAS NO PARTS. OWNER TELLS ME HE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO KEEP IT REAL WITH HIS CUSTOMERS AND LET THEM KNOW IT MAY TAKE MORE THAN THREE DAYS. AND GIVE YOU A COPY. HUNTER FOX IS ONE OF THE FEW LUCKY CUSTOMERS TO ENTER THE TAPCO AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND HAVE HIS CAR FIXED WITHIN TWO WORKING DAYS. I NEED MY WORK TRUCK AND MY ENTIRE TRUCK IS ONLY BROKEN DOWN FOR TWO DAYS. IT’S IT’S A BLESSING RIGHT THERE A BLESSING SOME CANNOT APPLY NOW WITH A NATIONWIDE CAR PARTS SHORTAGE FOX ONLY NEEDS ONE SMALL PIECE FOR THE REAR END OF HIS CAR. HE SAYS PEOPLE LIKE HIS FATHER WHO NEED BIGGER CAR PARTS HAVE WORSE BECAUSE BODY WORK CAN’T GET ANYTHING IN TIME. THEY HAVE HAD HIS TRUCK FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. THEY ALREADY SENT HIM OFF TWICE. YES, I DIDN’T HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. HE DID IT AND I AM HAPPY NOT TO. TAPCO CAR REPAIR OWNER MICHAEL LEE’S CRUZ CAN’T FIX AS MANY CARS AS THEY WANT NOW THIS CAR WE HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE WEDNESDAY. IT NOW SAYS THEY HAVE 50 OPEN REPAIR ORDERS. IT’S A BIT FRUSTRATING. HOW MUCH WORKLOAD WE CAN TAKE INTO ACCOUNT AND EVERYTHING IT SAYS WHICH USUALLY TAKES A DAY OR MORE TO FIX MAKES CUSTOMERS WAIT THREE TO FIVE WORKING DAYS IN SOME OF THEM ARE FRUSTRATED AND ABLE TO HAVE A SEPARATE RESOURCE OR RENT A CAR. SOME JUST TAKE UBERS. OH, I FEEL GOOD. NOW I CAN GO BACK TO WORK AND MAKE MONEY AND I AM HAPPY THAT THE TAPCO OWNER TELLS ME HE HOPE THERE WILL BE RELIEF SOON WHEN IT COMES TO THIS SHORTAGE.
